April, 1984: On Noam Chomsky's Structural Linguistics
Ferment has acquired a certain celebrity among linguists, being perhaps the only publication of a serious nature to expose the crankiness in this renowned "system" of universal grammar.
January, 1988: Benoit Mandlebrot's 5-Ring Fractal Circus:

September, 1990: The Cripple Factor: Oil, Arms and the Balance of Payments in the Middle East
On the eve of the Gulf war, Ferment published an analysis of American policies in the Middle East. The "cripple factor" refers to the exporting of inappropriate technologies to Third World countries, mostly in the form of weaponry.
July, 1982 : Puerto Rico, Music, Tourism & Politics:
Invited to cover the Casals Festival, Ferment interviewed leading composers , teachers at the Conservatory, and figures of the music industry.
October, 1986 : A modern troubadour in France.
The author of Ferment retraces, with violin and poetry, the roads and the life-styles of the troubadours of the 12th century.
